I'm Nick, Proprietor of Mudbilly’s Mudboggers.

My mudbogging started when I was about 16 years old with an ‘89 ford ranger 2.9L V6. After two motors, one mud bog and one trail ride I knew it wasn't going to last. My next 4x4 was a 1995 ford f-150 ext cab with a 302. It had a 4" lift kit and 33" BFG all-terrains. It performed well but once again two motors later it was time to get rid of it. At about this time I was beginning to see the light.

I went out and bought a 2000 chevy 2500 with a 454 in it. I never did much to it, only some mud tires and an air filter. I only had it offroad twice. It did good, just had poor ground clearance. Unfortunately, I had to get rid of it before I could do any modifications. I had a ZR2 S-10 for about two years before I decided to go back to a full size.

In late ‘04 I picked up an ’04 Chevy 1500 ext cab with a 5.3L. That got me by for a while until I got the bug. After about one year it was about time to start my build. It started out with just a 6" suspion lift with 34" super swamper LTB's. That lasted for three months and then came a 3"body lift, 37" TRUXS MTs, 513 gears, Detroit True Track and HP Tuner laptop program.I thought that this was it. The truck ran awsome. I was going to mud runs and doing some trail rides and never had any problems.

After a couple years went by I found a 2001 GMC 2500HD with a 6.0L in it. The body was in good shape but the motor was blown up. I thought it would be a good project truck and save wear and tear on my ‘04 chevy. The truck sat for six months before I could start working on it. After going through the motor I decided that it would be easier to just get a rebuit motor. Thanks to the help of my dad I was able to get the truck running and on the road in just over a month. After looking at my truck fund and seeing the lack of money, I was only able to put a 3" body lift with 33" tires. I ran this setup for one year, making a brief appearance on TRUCKS GONE WILD DVD#4. The truck worked good, but I got tired of getting stuck in medium size mud pits. After hours of research I decided to go bigger. I went with a solid axle conversion. I used a ’79 dana 60 high pinion out of a Ford. I'm keeping my same rear end(14 BOLT). After everything is said and done the truck will be lifted a total of 22" and have 44 x19.5 boggers. There are a lot of other mods coming.

For me season two is about to begin.

Mud, trucks, beer and babes....that’s how we roll.

I like to give thanks to my wife for putting up with all my BS over the years and making sacrifices most wives would never do. Thanks to my Dad for all the help and support; with out it a lot of this wouldn't have been possible. To Eddie for taking the time to help put this awesome site together and for being my pit crew. To my sister for letting Eddie take time away from their famliy to help with this. And last but not least my Mom for just being the best Mom ever.
